about me.

I am an award-winning translator with more than fifteen years experience in the fields of literature, arts/humanities, travel/tourism and advertising/marketing. I am accredited by NAATI (the Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) for translations from both English into German and German into English. I am also a member of AUSIT, the national Australian association for the translating and interpreting profession. My Master of Arts in History and Linguistics is from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (Germany).

I am a native speaker of German and an excellent speaker of English, translating from German into English and English into German. My translations have been published in the Sydney Morning Herald and in the Goethe-Institut Australia's cultural magazine, among others. My experience ranges from years in the travel industry to manuals, artist interviews and blogs as well as a screenplays and talks, for example for the City of Sydney or at the State Library of New South Wales. In 2013, I was awarded Runner-Up at the AUSIT Excellence in Translation Awards for my work on Cate Shortland's multi-award-winning film "Lore".
